The Right Ask!!!
Been home for two days now and a lot of people have asked me for what I brought. They expect the dollar rain and the big bags of clothes and chocolates and all for everyone.
And when I get questions like what did you bring for us and the disappointing looks that follows the no chocolates for adults look am forced to wonder if some people have actually taken time out to Google and know what the Mandela Washington Fellowship is about and about the resource standing or sitting next to you.
A resource that the United States Government Just invested 24,000 Dollars on. A resource that was carefully and tactically selected out of over 100,000 applications received all over Africa. 11,000 applications received in Nigeria and just 56 of us selected to represent Nigeria. 700 of us to represent all of Africa and 24,000 dollars was invested in training us each. Nigeria has a population of over 200 million and just 56 of us were equipped to serve you all. Just two of us from Ondo State Sipasi Olalekan Ayodelesi and I, Bowale the Hiru master resides in Ondo State but from Osun.
When you run into either of us, please do not ask for biscuit and sweet, that will be shooting yourselves in the leg. Ask me how your children can school abroad and how to access grants to make that happen, ask me for better and international network for your business expansion. My government should ask me how to access and partner with organizations on alternative power source, ask me about the source of industrial CBD, ask me how we can collaborate to bring medical supplies and aids in. Ask me about you getting a PHD abroad, ask me how my network also can come to Nigeria on exchange programs that will bring growth to my state. Ask how to foster political alliance, ask me how to be a great public manager/ leader, ask me how to focus on your strenghts rather than your weaknesses.
When I hear things like, you went to enjoy alone, my skin crawls, yes we had fun but it was rigorous. We went to study!!! We went to learn!!! I was equipped for YOU ALL . I represented you. And if all you want from all that is coke and fanta please be my guest.
Ever since I came just one person have asked me for the right thing. Makes me wonder the percentage of us that are really futuristic. Am here to serve you, I was equipped for you!!! Please Ask Me!!!
