School for the Deaf, Akure RenovationOn the 25th of September 2019, The Differently Abled Foundation ( DAF) went to deliver 500 school uniforms to students of the School For the Deaf Akure, Ondo State. You all contributed to #ProjectClothe500SpecialNeedsKidsIn30Daysand we are still very grateful.
While we were waiting to take pictures outside the hall/dinning room, we backed this particular building and my camera man said ” Big sis please lets choose another angle, that background is too ugly”
I looked back in a hurry, I have seen the windowless room more than 50 times but I didnt know what it was. So I asked ” Where is that place?”. Then they said ” Its the boys hostel”? A closer look at the place is what you will see in the video attached.
I was troubled and bitter about it for days and then I reached out to some of my contact. The rather large hall has 26 windows and since September till date!!! I got just one response!!! The person who insist on being anonymous paid for 10 windows ( God bless him).
Yesterday, we fixed the 10 windows and a lot of people have said several prayers for my team and I but of what use is 10 out of 26 windows?
A closer look at the videos will tell you we need more than windows? We need Mattresses!!! The way they sleep will send shivers down your spine, 3 people at the lower bunk and two up, the others sleep on that bare floor or dinning hall benches.
Am appealing to you all to please ASSIST us!!! If you have spare GOOD Mattresses at home please bring them for us!!! We need 16 more windows. Please inbox me for details.
