I remember like yesterday the first time I stepped into their school compound. They were on break and there must have been about 100 students on the field, but the awkward thing was the unusal quiteness of the school.

I still remember asking my producer, ” Baba are all these kids deaf”. The occasional scream like squel I heard made me turn around. And I saw two young boys giggling and smiling. They were in their own world.

We went about our interview, and that was when I started taking a closer look at them. Their neatness, their signs, and finally the cloths. Tears rolled down my cheeks. I couldn’t complete my interview. There were 650 of them, some of them already abandoned by their parents.

It was their end of the year party and we saw some parents trying to hide their tears and the sadness in their eyes can’t be concealed. Some of them had to wear a moftey under their house ware just to cover the fact that it is torn. The boys were worse, their boxers saying hello to the world as their shirts shifts as they walk.

On our way back to work, we swore amdist tears to do something about it and today we are almost because we all chose to be socially responsible to these vulnerable children. Because of you by the end of the week, we will have our first hundred cloths sown and ready. Because of you, our second batch of materials will land on Wednesday.

It’s one thing to have a dream, it’s another thing for the dream to become a reality. Project clothe 300 deaf kids in 30 days is already a reality and you made it so. Thank you very much.
